The EKN is a time-tested and proven one-of-a-kind, behavior modification model that has had a remarkable impact on the lives of over 12,000 young people since its inception in 2007.
The "Ekisaakaate" program aims at nurturing young girls and boys into holistic individuals, social managers and leaders who appreciate and harmonize both traditional and modern values.
Ekisaakaate was the traditional enclosure adorned with papyrus reeds around the homesteads of local chiefs and other high-ranking personalities in Buganda Kingdom. Inside the 'Ekisaakaate' young Baganda boys were taken for cultural grooming, leadership development, acquisition of morals, occupational skills and other requisite skills to enhance their quality of life. The alumni of this informal education and training institution were the model icons of society in reference to manners, discipline, responsibility, cultural norms and values of the Baganda.
